The daughter of a Sharlayan Astrologian who resided in Ul'dah and his wife a noted alchemist Fleur lived a life of simple pleasures until a sudden illness took her father from them despite her mothers best efforts. Shortly after Fleur's mother also became ill and Fleur took what little gil she could find that hadn't been spent on treatments that failed to work on her father and went to try and buy something from a merchant that was said to have a elixir that could cure most anything.

Despite having the funds the merchant refused to sell her the elixir, claiming it would be better to give to someone who wouldn't be dead in half a month. Enraged, Fleur returned home empty handed and did all she could to treat her mother before her mother ultimately passed.

Left alone in the world, and convinced no one else cared, Fleur took a few belongings - her fathers cards he used for astrology among them - and left the house she had been born and raised in.

Very quickly - with her mild skills at aetherial manipulation and healing - she was snatched up by a gang who needed someone to do their dirty work. After that Fleur fought and killed on a whim and never again went by the name her mother and father gave her. When word got out that the merchant who refused to take her money and give her what she thought would save her mother was returning after years of serving within the gang Fleur had blinked and made an attempt on the merchants life.

She failed to kill him, so she ran from Ul'dah, from the life she lived, and made her way to Limsa Lominsa where she found herself dabbling with Jacke and his rogues. Joining the Adventurer's Guild was not originally part of her plan, but Fleur found that once she got a taste of travelling she couldn't stay in one place for long.
